Our Practice:

    The Ear Center of Greensboro, P.A. is a two physician, group surgical practice, specializing in diagnosing and treating medical and surgical conditions of the ear (Otology) in both children and adults.  We provide specialized otologic care including performing: (1) medical and surgical treatment of diseases and conditions of the ear and vestibular (balance) system, including disorders of the facial nerve and acoustic neuroma surgery, (2) pediatric otolaryngology evaluations and surgery, (3) routine and comprehensive hearing and balance evaluations (complete audiologic services), (4) hearing aid evaluations, fitting, and service at our Hearing Aid & Implant Center, and (5) implantable hearing devices including the BAHA osteointegrated hearing device, the new, investigational Esteem™ Totally Implantable Hearing Device, and multi-channel cochlear implants (Advanced Bionics and Cochlear Americas cochlear implants).

    Our surgeons are Board Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology (EMK & SWT) and are active Fellows of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery (EMK).  Our physicians are super-specialized in treating diseases of the ear (Otology) as well as pediatric patients (Pediatric Otolaryngology).  It is our philosophy that sub-specialization within our practice allows us to deliver the highest quality,  "super-specialty" care to our patients by surgeons who are not only well-trained but are able to continuously refine their skills on a daily basis.

    Our group has one masters level, certified audiologist and one research audiologist who assist us in:
(1) diagnosing and treating hearing loss and balance disorders,
(2) fitting conventional and digital hearing aids,
(3) programming cochlear implants (Advanced Bionics and Cochlear Americas),
(4) maintaining and adjusting implantable hearing devices such as the BAHA device,
(5) evaluations, management, and programming of the new, investigational Envoy Esteem™ Totally Implantable Hearing Device (Phase II FDA Clinical Trial),  and
(6) performing specialized hearing evaluations such as Central Auditory Processing (AP) testing.  We perform basic comprehensive audiometry, visual response audiometry, tympanometry, distortion product otoacoustic emission testing (DPOAE's and spontaneous emission testing), specialized audiometric tests, electronystagmography (balance or vestibular testing), and auditory brainstem response audiometry (ABR or BAER) including Auditory Steady State Audiometry (ASSR). 
 

Our audiologists specialize in hearing aid evaluations, fitting, testing, and repairs (in our on-site hearing aid lab).

    Our team of highly qualified surgeons and audiologists are dedicated to comprehensive hearing restoration through
medicine, surgery, digital hearing aids, and cutting edge hearing implant technologies.

We test hearing in all ages from birth to maturity.
